Maksim Chmerkovskiy Dances With His Adorable Son
Dancing is hard, but Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy is getting his baby son started early. On Instagram, Maksim Chmerkovskiy posted a video of himself dancing with his son and it's so cute. Baby Shai was born in January to the 37-year-old Chmerkovskiy and his fiancée, fellow ballroom dancer and DWTS Seasons 14 and 22 winner Peta Murgatroyd. And even at very young age, little Shai is learning some moves from his dad.
In the video captured by Murgatroyd, Chmerkovskiy holds his baby's teensy-tiny widdle hand and lightly twirls and dips his son, introducing his infant to a lifestyle of grace and poise. The caption for the Instagram post reads, "Been waiting for this for the longest time. Happy first two months of life, son. Here's to you dancing happily through the rest of it!" Aw. Only time will tell if Shai will become a dancer just like his parents, but he will surely learn to rock some on-point dance moves in a home filled with dancing — after all, he has the gift coming from both sides of the family. Not only are his parents dancers, but his uncle, Valentin Chmerkovskiy is also a professional dancer and has appeared on DWTS.
The proud papa also shared a selfie showing off his new daddy swag, a carrier that keeps the baby right at the wearer's chest. He captioned the image, "Daddy time." Too cute.
Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd announced together on Good Morning America that they would be returning to Dancing with the Stars for Season 24. He will dance with Glee's Heather Morris in the upcoming season. Murgatroyd previously took off Season 23 because of her pregnancy. It will be his sixteenth season of the popular ABC show and her tenth. Murgatroyd has won the competition twice, while her husband has only hit first place once, though he has made it to the final round five times.
Congratulations to the Chmerkovskiy-Murgatroyd combo on their beautiful dancing baby. Maybe someday, Shai will be a performer on Dancing with the Stars. How cute would that be? Until then, Dancing with the Stars premieres March 20 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
