Lin-Manuel Miranda Has Given Fans A Present For His Wedding Anniversary
Lin-Manuel Miranda is the force behind Hamilton, which is reason enough to follow him, his proclamations of love for his wife, Vanessa Nadal, are the real best tweets on his feed. Tuesday marked their seven-year wedding anniversary, and Miranda's anniversary tweets about his wife will make you feel like celebrating, too. Or, if you're single, will make you feel some serious FOMO about not being in a seven-year-long marriage. But, thankfully, he makes up for the latter feeling with a musical gift for fans.
Miranda isn't just a musical genius and history buff; he's also a hopeless romantic. I guess that's obvious, considering all of the romantic declarations of love in Hamilton — like in the song "Helpless," when Alexander sings, "My life is going fine cause Eliza's in it" about his wife. Miranda has shared similar sentiments about Nadal in the past, but his anniversary brings out the absolute sappiest of tweets.
The adorable couple met at Hunter College High School — yes, this is a young love story, so get the the tissues out. Miranda has candidly spoken about being intimidated by his future bride, even though she was two grades below him. In their New York Times wedding announcement, he explained, "She was gorgeous and I’m famously bad at talking to women I find attractive."
He was right to be intimidated, though, because Nadal is amazing. Since high school, she's become a scientist, a science-journalist, and lawyer. Damn — or, as her Twitter handle states, VAMN (which happen to be her initials, because she's just effortlessly cool).
Aside from adorable photos of the couple, Miranda has also shared memories from their wedding day to celebrate its anniversary. Die-hard fans have likely already seen the video of Miranda and friends and family surprising the bride with a performance of "To Life" from Fiddler On The Roof, but, on Wednesday, Miranda posted another video of a surprise his friend planned for their vows. Of course, it's a musical performance.
Their whole story is so romantic, but I wouldn't expect anything less from Miranda, who once wrote on Twitter that it's hard for him to leave his wife and son. Sure, he's suave with words, but his primary language is music, so it's only right that he gifted fans a Spotify playlist with all the songs he gave to guests on his wedding day, seven years ago.
The mix is called "L'chaim. The Anniversary Mix," and it's filled with amazing throwbacks like Death Cab for Cutie's "I Will Follow You Into The Dark."
Maybe it wasn't Alexander Hamilton's audacity or ingenuity that drew Miranda to create an entire rap musical about him, but his sentimentality. Hamilton did write things to Eliza like, "Adieu my charmer; take care of your self and love your Hamilton as well as he does you." Basically, September 5 is officially even more romantic than Valentine's Day ever was, thanks to Lin-Manuel Miranda and his love for Vanessa Nadal.
