Cheryl & Liam Payne Have Reportedly Chosen Their Baby's Name

Hollywood has no shortage of unique baby names. From North to Rocket, you've probably heard it all. Perhaps that's why Cheryl and Liam Payne named their baby boy something creative. Despite welcoming their son on March 22, the couple recently settled on the name Bear, according to the Daily Mail. "Liam and Cheryl couldn't decide on a name for ages and kept toing and froing between options," a source told the Daily Mail. "By they both loved Bear and settled on it a few days ago."

UPDATE: Seemingly confirming the name news, as People points out, Payne and Bear Grylls has a conversation on Twitter in which Grylls linked to the Daily Mail article about the name and said "Great choice!"

EARLIER: Bustle has reached out to a rep for Cheryl for comment, but did not receive a response at the time of publication; a rep for Payne could not be reached.

Pop culture fanatics have heard their fair share of spiritual names such as Saint thanks to Pete Wentz and Kimye. Others, like Ashlee Simpson and the Beckhams, cite locations such as the Bronx and Brooklyn for inspiration. Colorful names have also been used by celebs, including Beyoncé and Jay Z and Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, who chose the monikers Blue and Violet.

But Cheryl and Payne turned to the animal kingdom for a strong and ferocious name for their baby boy. Maybe animal names will continue to take over the celeb baby name scene? Alicia Silverstone and Kate Winslet's sons are also named Bear. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden opted for the high-flying name Sparrow for their son. Busy Phillips' daughters are named Cricket and Birdie. Sounds like another Bear isn't much of stretch.

The One Directioner posted an Instagram of himself with his son on March 26, which is Mother's Day in the United Kingdom. Payne credited Cheryl as an "incredible mother," who "really made my dreams come true." He wrote, "I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far." Cheryl posted the same photo to her Instagram account and wrote that she and Payne were "madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival."

No word yet on whether or not Bear Payne will follow in his famous parents' footsteps. However, he's sure to fit right in with his famous, uniquely named peers.
