The star of Jessica Jones has been a busy bee during her Netflix series' filming break, and now she's all set to make her publishing debut. Krysten Ritter's debut novel, Bonfire, is a psychological thriller, and it's coming to a bookstore near you later this year. Here's what we know so far.
Ten years after she left home, 28-year-old Abby Williams is an environmental lawyer living in Chicago with absolutely no evidence of her humble beginnings. When she learns that a local employer, Optimal Plastics, may be dumping chemicals into her hometown's water supply, Abby returns to Barrens, Indiana to investigate. In the process, she digs into the disappearance of her high school bully, and uncovers a dark secret at the heart of her hometown.
As you might expect, Krysten Ritter is stoked to be publishing her first book. She says:
As a huge fan of psychological suspense novels, I was so thrilled to take on the challenge of writing my first book. This was an exciting opportunity for me to explore a character journey and really get inside the head of my protagonist, a process that has a lot in common with how I prepare to play a role.
Krysten Ritter's debut novel, Bonfire, hits store shelves on Nov. 7.
