Have you ever thought to yourself, what if Kit Harington wasn't Jon Snow? Monday night, Jimmy Kimmel Live! gave fans a peek at Kit Harington's audition for every Game Of Thrones part, and spoiler, it's probably a good thing he's just Jon Snow. The actor brought by some fake never-before-seen GOT audition tapes that feature him putting his own unique spin on Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Hodor, and Arya Stark. And what Harington's hilarious auditions show is that he wouldn't have brought a lot of subtlety to these other roles.
For instance, to play Arya, he walks out on his knees to make himself look shorter. But it's the Tweety Bird voice he uses that may be the worst part of the whole thing — and that's really saying something. When playing Cersei, he dons a blond bouffant and seductively tells the camera, "When you play the Game Of Thrones you win or you die. Now if you'll excuse me I need to have sex with my brother." While factual, that delivery just doesn't do the newest keeper of the Iron Throne justice, now does it?
What you may also notice is Harington gets a chance to show off his feminine side in these auditions, even bringing his own props to help him get into character. For his lost love Ygritte, played by Harington's real life love Rose Leslie, he brought a foam bow and arrow, which apparently can still do some damage. The shaving cream on the face to play a White Walker is pretty ingenious, but what he brought for his Khaleesi audition is a real doozy that you'll have to see to believe.
This video just makes the wait until Sunday, July 14, even longer, but Harington wasn't revealing any Season 7 spoilers to Kimmel. Despite that, we already know that his actual character has a lot on his plate. The recently revealed titles and descriptions of the first three Season 7 episodes give away that Jon Snow is building up his army to take on the biggest threat to the Seven Kingdoms: the White Walkers. To do this, he will need help. While it's already been revealed that he'll meet up with Daenerys at some point this season, it's unclear whether Sansa will be on Jon Snow's side.
Harington told Entertainment Weekly that there will be a power struggle between Sansa and John Snow. “There is definite tension between them right from the first scene,” he said. “There are the same problems — she questions his decisions and command; he doesn’t listen to her. But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we’ll see. It gets past sibling squabbling, it gets into two people power struggling.”
The struggle is real on Season 7 of Game Of Thrones. But, lucky for everyone, Harington is playing Jon Snow and not Sansa Stark in this battle for power.
