Kim, you can't do this to us — we need time to properly process and to budget. Kim Kardashian announced her KKW Beauty Line, which is slated to launch on Wednesday, Jun. 21. Kardashian-o-philes are stoked about the concept of new Kim-branded beauty products. However, Kim Kardashian also revealed she is creating a new fragrance this year, according to Women's Wear Daily.
OK, so can all of my fellow beauty obsessives and product fiends agree that it's going to continue to be a #ByeMoney year for us?
While concrete details about KKW Beauty are TBD, one would expect Kardashian signatures, like contouring kits, lip glosses, and smoky eye palettes to be a part of the range. But you never know. She could totally trip us up with an unexpected suite of products. That said, what do we know about the forthcoming KKW perfume?
Well, not much, unfortunately. The particulars are not terribly detailed yet they are important.
Kardashian confirmed that a fragrance is coming at the Forbes Women's Conference. WWD reports that she said, "My makeup line that I announced today will be all online. In the same beauty world, I'm launching fragrance at the end of the year….These are all projects I'm doing with full ownership."
Elite Daily also reports that KKW affirmed that she is fully immersed in the perfume creation process and that she said, "every last detail from the box, to the packaging, to being in the factory, and feeling every packaging detail… I'm a hundred percent involved in and that's so prideful for me…"
Let's dissect those statements.
First, a KKW scent is coming in 2017. Yes! This is not her first time at the perfume rodeo. She has done plenty of perfumes in the past. But this is a new era for the reality star, where she is entrepreneur extraordinaire. She is more grown up, and a wife and mother. So, she could go with an entirely different scent and aesthetic.
More importantly, we have to acknowledge Kardashian's female-fronted empire. She isn't licensing her name to a company to create the fragrance. It's all hers. That's a #GirlBoss moment, for sure.
We know nothing about the name or the notes regarding Eau de KKW. Personally, I predict it will smell like a sunny, California day, with some additional musky and opulent layers.
