Khloe Kardashian “Fake Tried” To Get Pregnant With Lamar Odom

Now that their divorce is final, it seems like it's been decades since Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom were married and trying for a baby. And now, there are some new details about their relationship that makes it pretty clear that things between them were so much worse than they seemed on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Khloé & Lamar at the time. In a new clip from this Sunday's KUWTK (via Us Weekly), Kardashian admits she "fake tried" to get pregnant with Odom, and although her confession is shocking, it's definitely the smartest decision she could have made.

The scene takes place in a doctor's office, where Kim and Khloé are trying to discuss Khloé's options for becoming a surrogate for Kim. The doctor asks her if she's tried to get pregnant before, and that's when the whole story starts spilling out: Even though they did try to conceive back then, she realized that the situation in their marriage wasn't the right one to bring a new baby into.

Back in 2012, Kardashian was open about her struggles with fertility and the treatments she received, but as it turns out, behind the scenes, the process was even more difficult.

Kardashian said:

"I fake tried. I was married but I knew the circumstances weren't the healthiest, so I just kept pretending I was doing it. . . When I was doing my fertility treatments, they were more so for Lamar. I had to stop because there was much deeper stuff that was happening in our marriage. I knew that it wasn't the right situation to bring a child into and I think I've done a lot of covering up for him. Like even when it made me look like I was the problem. But I was fine taking that burden on my shoulders because he had a lot of deeper sh*t to deal with."

Considering all we've seen Lamar Odom go through over the past few years, from his near-fatal overdose in 2015 to his recent admission to cocaine dependency and infidelity, it makes sense that things would have been difficult in their marriage. Kardashian has always seemed all about having kids, so it had to be a tough decision for her to put that dream away for awhile because it was the smartest thing to do. It's just another example of her strength.

And kudos for her to keeping quiet about it for all of these years. The news didn't seem to surprise Kim in the slightest, so perhaps this is something her family was privy to. But as a fan who watched those episodes of KUWTK, I'm totally blown away by her confession. I never saw this coming, but good for Kardashian for doing what needed to be done.

Hopefully, despite her fertility issues, Kardashian will be able to have a baby when the time is right for her. Any kid would be lucky to have her as a mom, especially since she's clearly capable of making tough decisions like the ones that are necessary as a parent.
