The Dancing With The Stars cast is like the mafia — once you get in, you never really leave. Both Julianne Hough and her brother Derek started as dancers on the show, and Derek comes and goes while Julianne is now a judge. Both Derek and Julianne will be taking a break from Dancing With The Stars after this season for their Move – Beyond - Live On Tour dance program, and Julianne and Derek Hough’s emotional preview of the show on Dancing With The Stars means you better book a ticket fast.
Derek and Julianne (but more so Derek, I suppose) were always pretty visionary in their choreography when they were professional dancers on Dancing With The Stars, so it’s not a surprise that their chosen dance was a contemporary piece that outlined their feelings behind their parents divorce. Even though the number was a short preview of one of the elements of Move – Beyond, it was very, very emotional, and very, very powerful. It had two younger counterparts of the siblings also learning about their parents’ splitting up, and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house after it was over. It was so nice to see Julianne on the floor again — it’s been a long while — and I missed Derek, too. They’ve been off doing their own thing, and it’s nice to see them on the wood on Dancing With The Stars again.
That being said, I think we need to scoop up some tickets for the show! According to the tour’s site, it kicks off on April 19 in Akron, Ohio, and works its way through Chicago, Boston, New York, Nashville, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, to name a few cities. Tickets for Move – Beyond are available now, so if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go try my luck so I can see the rest of that preview performance.
