'GoT' Season 7 Could Be “Dark” For Sansa & Jon

When Game of Thrones returns to HBO on July 16, it might bring some serious Sansa Stark and Jon Snow conflict along with it. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Game of Thrones star Kit Harington hinted that the siblings’ (er, cousins'?) dynamic might take a grim turn in Season 7. Or maybe it won’t? Dude didn’t spoil anything, but what he did say was cryptic enough to plant a seed of worry.

Harrington told EW,

“There is definite tension between them right from the first scene. There are the same problems — she questions his decisions and command; he doesn’t listen to her. But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we’ll see. It gets past sibling squabbling, it gets into two people power struggling.”

Oh, no. No, no, no. “But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we’ll see." That “we’ll see” is stress-inducing. Yeah, the Sansa vs. Jon theories have been around for some time, but that doesn't make them any less upsetting. They can't be enemies. They just can't! They're both too good and noble!

Not to be a mush ball, but Sansa and Jon’s reunion happened all of five seconds ago, and it would be a real summer bummer if they ended up at serious odds already (especially if that goober Littlefinger is somehow involved). And if anything “dark” happens to either of them at the other’s hands… ? Uh, that would be pretty devastating, to say the least. Then again, viewers should be used to gut-wrenching GoT moments by now; no character or familial bond is truly safe in Westeros.

But haven't these two characters already been to hell and back enough times already? Can't they just be a happy family happily ever after? Can't this be that kind of show for a change? Oops, the mush ball has become a mush boulder.
