Raise your hand if you are a huge Game of Thrones fan and desperately need to know every detail about the actor who plays Jon Snow. If so, then there's probably a good chance you're wondering if Kit Harington is engaged. It's totally understandable if you are, especially since his relationship with fellow actor and GoT alum Rose Leslie is hard to ignore.
It's not entirely clear when they first started dating (they didn't make their romance public until April 2016), but it's been suspected they've been together on a romantic level on-and-off since around 2012, which is also when they met on the GoT set.
Like many other fellow celebs, Harington and Leslie are pretty tight-lipped about their relationship, so not too much is known about them as a couple. They both have spoken on different occasions about one another, which is a gift in itself. When Esquire asked the Emmy-nominated actor about how long he and the Downton Abbey star have been together, Harington replied, "It's as much her relationship as it is mine and I can't speak for both of us. But yeah, we are very, very happy. So that's what I'll say about that."
However, when it comes to the two being engaged, there is a direct answer for that. No, they are not. In July, Life & Style reported that Harington had proposed to Leslie, but the actor's rep quickly shot down rumors by telling U.K.'s Metro, "They are not engaged." So, there you have it. Harington doesn't seem to be planning on walking down the aisle anytime soon. And if or when he and Leslie do, they probably won't make some huge announcement. They seem like the type of couple to keep it super private and not make a big deal about it.
Though, that doesn't mean Harington and Leslie won't ever get engaged or marry, and even Nicole Kidman is curious about the future of their relationship. While appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden in June, the Big Little Lies star asked Harington, "Are you gonna get married or...?" He was totally caught off guard and answered, "Oh, wow!" She replied, "No, I just think it's kind of nice if you're gonna live together maybe to at least get engaged." To that, he replied, "I've been put on the spot by Nicole Kidman" and then added that they are taking things "step by step." Kidman responded, "I'm just all about, hey what about, getting engaged and then living together."
Even though it doesn't seem like an engagement or marriage will happen tomorrow, the couple is serious. They live together, as Harington revealed to Corden and Kidman when he sweetly said, "I've moved in with my other best friend, Rose, so, I'm very, very happy. And it's going well, she's got all sorts of ideas for the house."
You can tell just how seriously he takes their relationship. While discussing them moving into together, Harington revealed, "I said to her, because she moved into my house, I said, 'Darling, it's important that this is our space, that this feels like our place, that you haven't just moved into mine. Move anything you want around, change anything, chuck anything out.'" Now that is love.
As low-key as they are about their romance, it is nice to hear them talk about one another every now and again. In August 2016, Leslie chatted with ITV's This Morning and opened up about what it's like to date Harington when they are both so busy. "It's kind of an embarrassment of riches, I suppose, if both of us are working, and that's a lovely thing to be involved and to be busy," she said. "But, yes, I suppose you make it work. FaceTime is a must."
These two truly are a delight. Here's hoping they keep making things work like they've managed to do so far and one day give shippers what they really, really want — a wedding.
