The Amal Clooney Pregnancy Rumors Won't Quit

The soap opera narrative of tabloids usually goes something like this: Celeb Couple Threatens to Call Off Wedding, Celeb Couple Gets Married, Wife in Celeb Couple Is Pregnant (see post-burrito lunch for evidence), Wife in Celeb Couple Is Pregnant With Twins (it must have been two burritos that day), Celeb Couple Is Getting Divorced and the Most Scandalous Thing to Ever Occur Caused Their Split. George and Amal Clooney have been through this entire song and dance for years, which is why I'm taking the report that Amal Clooney is pregnant with twins with a giant tablespoon of salt. (Bustle has reached out to George's rep and has not yet received a response at time of publication. A rep for Amal could not be reached.)

According to Lebanon's The Daily Star (Amal is, in fact, Lebanese), a "family friend" claims that the lawyer is due in March and is expecting twins. While this, of course, could be true in theory — and let's give them the benefit of the doubt here — right now, all we have to go off of is one tabloid-y source, as well as the fact that this is far from the first time the Clooneys have been surrounded by pregnancy rumors. In fact, George denied pregnancy rumors in January 2016, laughing off a reporter's question with a simple "no" (she's not pregnant), "but I like that you started that rumor." He then went on to praise his wife for all of her work as a badass barrister, and it made me love him even more.

So congrats to these guys if they are expecting — and congrats if they're not, because they are an adorable couple and are crazy successful in their respected careers.
