Selena's back. After dropping her brand new single, "It Ain't Me" in the middle of the night Feb. 16, there are hints that a new Selena Gomez album is coming. The latest track signals the singer return to the music scene since dropping her last album, Revival, back in 2015. "It Ain't Me" is credited to both DJ Kygo and Gomez and serves as a major sign that the 24-year-old entertainer has more new music in store for fans in the very near future.
Since the new song hit Apple Music in the wee hours of the night, the singer made the huge announcement via social media, tweeting out, "It's finally here! Listen to my new song #ItAintMe with @KygoMusic." And, in addition to the new single, Gomez is also said to be part of a soon-to-be released collaboration with Latina superstar, Paulina Rubio, and DJ Snake, according to Billboard.
The pop star has been going strong in the studio lately, working on tons of new music of her own. Just last month, the former Disney actor shared a video snippet of herself in the studio alongside writers Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter. It's worth noting that Tranter was a major collaborator on Gomez's largely successful sophomore album, so it looks like she's sticking to the same tried and true formula for her upcoming release.
Selenators should have a lot to look forward to from the pop star now that it appears that she's finally ready to head back into the spotlight following her three month hiatus last summer. With a huge comeback on the horizon, Gomez has reemerged, teasing fans with new music, and a romance with the Weeknd — which should certainly prove to be a source for a pretty epic album, right?
And while there's no official word on when Gomez's album is due to drop, all sign point to it being in the very near future.
