When celebrities come into Bustle HQ in New York, whether it's for a photoshoot, videoshoot, or a Facebook Live, we want to give them the chance to leave their mark. Literally. So we hand them a pen, a piece of paper, a few questions, and ask them to get creative. The rest is up to them. This time, actors Louis Hynes and Malina Weissman are leaving their marks in the Bustle Booth.
For any actor, taking a role in the adaptation of a beloved series is daunting, and when that role is already one of your first, it can't be any easier. But when the stars of Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Louis Hynes and Malina Weissman, came to Bustle's office, they expressed nothing but excitement for the adaptation. When the series premieres on Jan. 13, Klaus Baudelaire will be Hynes' first major role (following minor appearances in Barbarians Rising) and though Weissman has some more acting experience — most notably as young Kara in Supergirl — Violet Baudelaire is easily her biggest role to date.
Based on the beloved children's book series by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler, who is also producing the Netflix series), A Series of Unfortunate Events is poised to be one of the biggest hits of 2017 for adults and kids alike. It's perfectly fitting, then, that when Weissman and Hynes enter the Bustle Booth, they display a mix of youthful enthusiasm and total maturity.
