When celebrities come into Bustle HQ in New York, whether it's for a photoshoot, videoshoot, or a Facebook Live, we want to give them the chance to leave their mark. Literally. So we hand them a pen, a piece of paper, a few questions, and ask them to get creative. The rest is up to them. This time, The Bold Type actor Katie Stevens is leaving her mark in the Bustle Booth.
If you've never heard of Katie Stevens, you really should take the time to get to know her. Stevens is both a talented actor and singer. Not only did she appear on American Idol Season 9 (she made it to the top nine), she also played co-lead Karma Ashcroft on MTV's short-lived series Faking It. The 24-year-old is only in the beginning of her career — and it's clear she's making quite the name for herself, especially in her latest TV role on Freeform's The Bold Type.
While visiting Bustle, Stevens opened up about her character, Jane Sloan, a passionate, go-getter writer for Scarlet magazine. What also makes Jane inspiring is how she embraces her sexuality, isn't afraid to be honest with the entire world about her personal life, and is determined to turn politics into an important conversation at the magazine alongside fashion and sex.
If you haven't seen The Bold Type, you should check it out. Until then, here's what Stevens had to say when answering the following list of fun questions. (She makes a valid point about millennials.)
