When celebrities come into Bustle HQ in New York, whether it's for a photoshoot, videoshoot, or a Facebook Live, we want to give them the chance to leave their mark. Literally. So we hand them a pen, a piece of paper, a few questions, and ask them to get creative. The rest is up to them. This time, The Bold Type actor Aisha Dee is leaving her mark in the Bustle Booth.
You've probably seen Aisha Dee before. The Australian actor got her start back in 2008 as Desiree Biggins on beloved kids series The Saddle Club, going on to rack up credits in Fox sitcom I Hate My Teenage Daughter, ABC drama Chasing Life, and MTV's short-lived dark comedy Sweet/Vicious. But in The Bold Type, she takes on perhaps her biggest role to date.
Loosely based on executive producer Joanna Coles' tenure as Cosmopolitan's editor-in-chief, the show follows three 20-somethings navigating their early careers at a fictional women's magazine named Scarlet. Dee plays Kat Edison, a firebrand social media director pushing for more daring, purposeful content. When Dee stopped by Bustle HQ, she shared some insight into who she is off-screen, and she isn't all that different from her character: They both have comfortable style (painful heels are a no), an affinity for Instagram, and a kickass feminist icon. See what else she had to say below.
