Here’s How To Edit Your 2017 Snapchat Memories & Show Off Your Best Snaps Of The Year
Looking back at what you've done over the past 12 months is arguably one of the best parts about the end of the year. Unfortunately, though, it's easy to forget about all of the little things and just focus on the bigger events. This is fine, obviously, it's just that sometimes the little things hold the funniest and weirdest memories that we don't actually want to forget. That's where social media comes in — "year in review" features often bring back moments you completely forgot about. This year, Snapchat is finally joining in on the fun. The app's new 2017 Snapchat Memories feature allows you to look at some of your more notable snaps of the past year. Even more fun? You can edit your 2017 Snapchat Memories to personalize them even more.
At first glance, you might be so into your 2017 Memories that you don't even realize that you can, in fact, change them up a bit. Maybe there's a photo of your ex that you'd rather not be reminded of. Good news: you can delete it! Maybe you want to make your story a lot more fun with cute stickers. You can do that too. The options are endless (well, kind of). Plus, it's just another way to make your 2017 Memories more interesting to watch. Don't forget to export yours when you're done so that you can watch it whenever you want! Here's how to edit your 2017 Snapchat Memories:
Click On The Memories Tab
The first thing you need to do, of course, is open up the Snapchat app. Once you're in there, click on the Memories tab. This is the two little rectangles underneath the camera button. Once you're in Memories, you'll see your 2017 Memories at the top - it's pretty impossible to miss it. If you don't see it there, try exiting the app and seeing if an update is available. Download that update, if needed, and it should be there when you're done.
Click The "Edit" Button
If you see your 2017 Memories at the top, you should also see a small "edit" button the lefthand side of the image. Click that button, and once you do, you'll see all of your photos included in the story laid out. From there, you can easily delete the photos you don't want included by clicking the small "x" on the upper righthand corner of each photo. You can also click each photo and edit them individually.
Important note! Maybe you've already looked at your 2017 Memories, loved them, and downloaded them to add to your story. I did this when I looked at mine, and if you did too, you'll notice that editing them is a slightly different process. So, if that's the case...
Look Through Your Memories
It seems that once you've viewed and downloaded your 2017 Memories, it no longer appears as the top banner in your Memories tab. Instead, it appears as a circle in Memories. There's no "edit" button, either. Click on the circle.
Edit Each Snap Individually
Once you click the circle, you'll be able to view your 2017 Memories and you can edit each photo individually. (Note: you can also do this if you simply view your 2017 Memories in your story, if you placed it there.) Click on the three little dots in the upper righthand corner of each photo you want to edit. Once you click, you'll see options to either delete the snap (that allows you to remove the photo), export, edit, or send. If you're trying to edit, hit that.
Once you do, you'll see several different editing options. You can add filters that change the coloring, draw on the photos/videos, add text, add stickers and emojis, and add URLs. You can also choose to loop the videos if you'd like. When you're done editing, hit the "Done" button in the upper lefthand corner and click "Save changes."
And there you go! And easy and fun way to make your 2017 Memories more colorful, personalized, and generally adorable.
