Christie Brinkley's last appearance in the annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue was back in 2004. It's been 13 years but her return was worth the wait. The supermodel is now 63 and she still slays all day when rocking a bathing suit. Allow me to pause to give props to SI for featuring an older model and reminding us that beauty knows no age limits or boundaries. Also, Brinkley's is flanked by her daughters in the 2017 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
While the 2017 issue marks the issue debut of Alexa Ray Joel, 31 and Brinkley's daughter with singer Billy Joel, and Sailor Brinkley Cook, 18, Brinkley has been a perennial in these pages. How many Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues has Brinkley appeared in?
Well, she appeared eight times between 1975 and 2004. But what's more impressive is that Brinkley covered the Swimsuit Issue three consecutive times. She appeared on the 1979, 1980, and 1981 covers. She was the first model to ever appear in back-to-back issues, as well. #Gamechanger.
For her ninth appearance, Brinkley crushed it in a netted black one-piece, the cutouts of which showed the perfect amount of skin. Her daughters each rocked black bikinis, showing off their unique styles while matching with mom!
