You Can't Miss The 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Post-Credits Scenes

by Allie Gemmill

As the second effective reboot of the Spider-Man universe kicks off, there's still plenty of world-building that has to be done. This includes featuring two post-credits scenes in Spider-Man: Homecoming that hint at the future of this particular Spidey franchise. Without giving too much away, it's safe to say that Spider-Man is going to have his hands beyond full with villains in his next few solo films.

In case you hadn't noticed, Peter Parker is a dyed-in-the-wool teenager in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Unlike his predecessors, who were introduced as older teens with the burgeoning issues of adulthood, Homecoming Peter is still very much a wet behind the ears superhero who's shirking Spanish quizzes in order to save the day.

Small spoilers ahead! This emphasis on youthfulness and inexperience comes into play even more in one post-credits scene, where an older character is introduced who seems intent on teaching Peter a lesson. Make no mistake: Peter is soon going to grow up very quickly and may even be a bigger target than he had ever expected. The villains of New York City has pulled his number and the next Spider-Man film could show Peter facing some very adult problems as a result. The other post-credits scene retains the playfulness of Homecoming, with a final appearance from Captain America helping to cap this movie.

Both post-credits scenes serve to show audiences the growing and renewed vision for this new Spider-Man universe. Not only does the film take great pains to show us that Spider-Man is a true part of the MCU by seamlessly weaving in the characters of Tony Stark and Captain America, but it's also indicated that these newer Spider-Man films will bring in some lesser-known but just as important characters from the Spider-Man comics.

In the case of the Spider-Man: Homecoming post-credits scenes, things are definitely getting more excited for our favorite webslinger.
