Michelle Williams & Busy Phillips Go Way Back
There are a lot of adorable celebrity friendships in Hollywood, but one I wish I could be a part of is the one between Michelle Williams and Busy Phillips. For decades, these women have supported each other in both their personal lives and their careers, and just by seeing them hang out on the red carpet or in the posts Phillips makes on Instagram, it seems like they have so much fun together. But they've been pals for so long that it's hard to know exactly where it all began, so how did Phillips and Williams meet? It seems their first encounter with each other was on set.
This unstoppable duo has yet to share their origin story publicly, but the general consensus seems to be that Phillips and Williams first crossed paths on the set of Dawson's Creek when Phillips joined the cast in 2001, playing Audrey, Katie Holmes' Joey's college roommate. Working together created a lifelong friendship, and it's rare to see one of them without the other, even more than 16 years later.
You know what they say — friends who meet on the set of a wildly popular teen drama stay together. Or, you know, something like that.
And fortunately, their friendship didn't end when Dawson's Creek did. Since then, they've been practically inseparable, and Phillips' Instagram is a testament to all the adventures they have together. But the reason I love them as a pair isn't just that they're best friends — it's that they're basically soulmates, and I am jealous.
In fact, while talking to People last year, Williams called Phillips the love of her life, because they're that adorable. She said:
I'm here with my best friend. I'm so in love with her. She's proof that the love of your life does not have to be a man! That's the love of my life right there.
OK, if you don't want a BFF who talks that way about you, you're lying. They're just too cute!
I love that they've been close for so long. The entire world has changed since Dawson's was on the air, but the bond that these two have has stayed the same, and there's something really comforting about that.
Hopefully, this friendship will last for years and years to come. Watching red carpet specials during award show season just wouldn't be the same without seeing these two arrive together!
