Sheet Masks For Pregnant Bellies Are Now A Thing & They're Actually Genius

by Kali Borovic

Odds are that you've seen and tried out your fair share of sheet masks. There are masks that look like characters and some that look scary AF on their own, but now there are also some for your belly. As Allure found Hatch Mama created a pregnancy belly face mask. This might sound like a gimmick at first glance, but it's actually a really helpful products for mommas and mommas-to-be.

Deemed "belly facials" by the brand, Hatch Mama has figured out a way to help moms both relax and recover. According to the brand's description, the Hatch Mama Belly Mask allegedly minimizes stretch marks and, more importantly, soften inflamed scar tissue postpartum.

The K-Beauty item is already known for the hydrating and soothing properties, and this product is no different. Except for, you know, not having a whole for your eyes and mouth. It uses aloe vera, which the brand calls a "healing superhero," to sooth and reduce inflammation and propolis to heal and rebuild damaged skin cells.

So not only do the masks help during pregnancy, but you can actually use them afterwards to help the healing process. Plus it's a heck of a lot more fun than just rubbing cocoa butter on your belly. Doesn't seem so gimmicky now, does it?

The masks are available right now for $12 each, or four for $42, on the Hatch Mama website. It's a one-size-fits-all-bellies type of product, too. No matter whether you're a full nine months pregnant or just popped the bun in the oven, you'll grow into the mask. There are currently no reviews available on the website, so it's unclear is the product actually works or not.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with stretch marks. Your body needs to do what it needs to do during pregnancy and there's no reason to be ashamed of that. But this product is pretty incredible even if it doesn't magically reduce stretch marks.

According to Check Pregnancy, scar tissue postpartum can happen to anyone and cannot be prevented. It's just part of the body's way of healing. To have a product that can help sooth some of the pain for mothers is major. There's a possibility that this mask could also help on other parts of the body that is having trouble healing from a surgery.
