The Stark gang is all here. This week's Entertainment Weekly covers are Game Of Thrones focused, and, by the looks of them, we're getting a Stark family reunion in Season 7. The five covers show off the remaining four Starks in their fur-filled garb. There may be fewer members of the family who call Winterfell home after a beheading, the Red Wedding, and an arrow through the back from Ramsay Bolton, but, in this photo spread, the Starks look ready to take on whatever comes their way. And, as we learned from Jon Snow in the latest Game Of Thrones Season 7 trailer, it's a great war that is unlikely to be so great for anyone.
In this issue of EW, the cast and creators are talking about the new season, which will be filled with interesting and unexpected character clashes. "What’s most exciting this season is being able to play interactions between various characters that for years we haven’t been able to play,” co-creator Dan Weiss explained.
In fact, co-executive producer Bryan Cogman said fans should expect the unexpected now that the characters are all heading to Westeros. "Dany in Westeros makes Game of Thrones a new show,” he said. But what about the Starks? Will they finally find one another?
Of course, no one's going on record to say that a reunion is happening, but there are hints that it could happen somewhere beyond this cover. In the new trailer, Arya is seen in a much colder climate, meaning she's getting pretty close to Winterfell. In one of the photos Entertainment Weekly released, Arya is seen on horseback outside a castle gate that with its gray hues has a Winterfell feel to it. Even if it's not her family's home, it's certainly a sign she's getting closer to where Jon Snow and Sansa are.
And while Bran is nowhere to be found in the trailer — SERIOUSLY, WHERE IS HE?, the internet really wants to know — the actor who plays him, Isaac Hempstead Wright, did tell The Hollywood Reporter last year that he thinks "Bran will head south to Winterfell" in Season 7 and hopefully meet up with Sansa and Jon.
If not, there's still the possibility that Bran will find Arya. Especially since last fall, Maisie Williams, who plays Arya, and Wright were seen on set together in Northern Ireland, which just so happens to be where the show films its Winterfell and Castle Black scenes.
This new Entertainment Weekly cover is certainly a major hint that the Starks can one day reunite. Hopefully, that day is coming very soon.
