Actor Cynthia Nixon is perhaps best remembered for her role as Carrie Bradshaw's red-headed, voice-of-reason BFF Miranda Hobbes on Sex and the City, an HBO series revered for its fashions. Duh. But Nixon is currently nominated for a 2017 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her work in The Little Foxes. Nixon's 2017 Tony Awards dress was pretty, pink, and simple chic. Nixon wore a strapless sheath by Rosie Assoulin that hit at the ankles and had a bow at the back. We could see her sexy, hot pink heels, which matched her lipstick.

While her work on SATC and as Hobbes certainly have created a space for Nixon in the fashion-watcher world, the Tony nominee's outfit wasn't outrageous or ostentatious, even with the embellished back. It was all lovely and it suited her.

So many of us fondly remember Miranda for her sensible chic — since she was an attorney — we must also remember Nixon is not Miranda, nor is Miranda the yardstick by which she should be measured. We know it's hard to let go of that memory, but the show has been off the air for years and everyone has moved on.

Nixon's ginger locks were also a recognizable signature for her for quite some time. But she rocked an effortlessly bedheaded, deeply sideswept blonde pixie at the ceremony.

Nixon's baby pink sheath was simple and she carried a tiny clutch. The entire presentation just worked. Who else is loving those slingbacks?
