Chrissy Teigen's 2017 Met Gala Dress Is All About Detail
It's time again for the Met Gala, which means the ensemble excellence of events so far this year, like the Golden Globes and the Grammys, is all set to continue. Chrissy Teigen's 2017 Met Gala outfit proves that this event is a major fashion moment of the year, and her gown is all about the detail.
This year's Met Gala theme is Rei Kawakubo x Comme des Garçons, making this the first gala to celebrate a living designer since 1983's Yves Saint Laurent exhibit. And we know, thanks to previous galas, that Teigen and husband John Legend are always on point, no matter the theme.
Teigen's gorgeous 2016 outfit, celebrating "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology," came complete with an actual, real-life cape studded with white beads to match her all-white dress. Legend played a (very close) second fiddle with a classy patterned suit, as is his wont; in 2015, he also wore a simple suit, while Teigen rocked sideswept hair and a long-sleeve St. John Knits dress, with jade earrings to match the theme: "China: Through The Looking Glass."
This year, Legend didn't disappoint with a snowy white suit and classic black bowtie. And Teigen came decked out in an elaborately lacy, feather-encrusted black-and-white custom Marchesa dress. Fans knew going in that they certainly weren't going to be disappointed, but Teigen and Legend's looks were, as always, above and beyond the expected.
