Chrissy Teigen & John Legend Won't Be At The VMAs For The Best Reason

One of Hollywood's favorite power couples is skipping the red carpet this year. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend won't be at the VMAs, despite Legend being up for Best Fight Against the System song for "Surefire." Instead, the couple is making the most of the final days of summer with a vacation in Corsica. While the VMAs are sure to be a blast, no one can fault Teigen and Legend for opting for one more getaway before fall arrives.

According to Teigen's Twitter posts, their vacation will include nine days spent on a boat with their friends Jen Atkin (a hairstylist) and Mike Rosenthal (a photographer). Both Legend and Teigen have been posting pictures from their trip on Instagram, and it looks like they're having a blast relaxing with another couple. There are few things more fun than a vacation with good friends, and that has to be doubly true when your pals are Teigen and Legend.

Case in point: Teigen has been making jokes about how Bravo's reality series Below Deck has prepared her for this moment. The reality show follows young people who work and live on yachts while attending to the whims of their rich and famous passengers. Hilariously, Teigen vowed not to make anyone set up a yacht slide on Twitter.

While Teigen has been planning how to live out her Below Deck fantasies, Legend has been pretending to be Bond, James Bond. The singer performed at a wedding near Monte Carlo, and then, as he wrote on Instagram, "made his escape on a speedboat." Clearly, these two are living their best lives.

In between all of the speedboat escapes and yacht fun, Legend and Teigen have been spending quality time with each other and their friends. Legend posted a stunning picture of the two of them enjoying the beauty of Corsica, while Teigen posted the ultimate couple's fun pic of herself and Legend with Atkin and Rosenthal.

It would have been nice to see Teigen and Legend walking the VMA red carpet, but their alternate plans aren't too shabby. And hey, maybe Legend will win his category and give the couple one more thing to toast to before they return home.
