Leave Chrissy Teigen alone. When it comes to the 31-year-old, people just can't keep their opinions to themselves, especially if it involves her pregnancy choices and her decisions as a mother to her daughter Luna Simone with John Legend. On Monday, Chrissy Teigen clarified baby comments she made at the 2017 SAG Awards, in addition to defending the way she chooses to have a baby.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight on the 23rd annual SAG Awards red carpet, Teigen talked about having a second child. To be exact, she said about the possibility of having more kids, "Oh my God, a little boy is next for sure." Of course, this caused speculation over whether or not the model is currently pregnant with her second child and led to Teigen clearing up any confusion on Twitter Monday.
"Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left," she tweeted. "A boy. So. Yeah." She then added, "And no, I am not pregnant."
For those unaware, Teigen used IVF to conceive and chose to have a girl the first time around. Like with pretty much everything she does, because she can't ever win, the Lip Sync Battle star had to defend this particular choice. When it comes to a woman's choice involving her body, how she chooses to have a child, and whether or not she even wants to have a baby, no one should insert themselves into the conversation. Your opinions do not matter, especially if they aren't constructive.
"We didn't create a little girl," she said on Twitter at the time in February 2016. "We had multiple embryos. Girls and boys. We simply chose to put in a female first." She continued, "We didn't 'throw away' anything and still would love to have more of both in the future. Hard to explain such a complicated process here." Teigen concluded, "You'd be surprised at how many people you know go through this. Also every doctor knows the sex of the embryos, it isn't some grand secret."
The fact that Teigen knows they will next have a baby boy if or when she gets pregnant again isn't a huge surprise. It's something she and Legend planned, not to mention a topic they've been extremely open about, so what's the big deal here? There shouldn't be one, but the Teigen haters can't seem to stay away.
Similar to when she defended her IVF choices, Teigen took to Twitter soon after clarifying her baby boy remarks to speak directly to one user. The Twitter user wrote, "Did you give it a minute to try naturally or are you avoiding 'the act?' At least no political rants!"
Like the queen Teigen is at not only defending herself but slamming any negativity in her life, she responded with, "Hi Linda, thanks for asking, you complete witch. I tried for about 9 years. Anything else, let me know!"
Boom. Mic drop.
By no means should Teigen have to defend her pregnancy choices and the way she chooses to have children. And if you have a problem with that, you just might receive an iconic Teigen slam.
