Anna & Chris' Statement Shows There's Still Love Between Them

The news that Hollywood power couple Anna Faris and Chris Pratt were separating sent fans everywhere into shock. Their joint announcement was unexpected for many, as Faris and Pratt gave major 'ship goals to almost anyone who follows either star on social media or has seen the duo work a red carpet together. Faris and Pratt both shared an official statement with their fans on Sunday, Aug. 6, announcing that they were splitting up, and fans on Twitter could barely handle the news. In the note, Faris and Pratt shared that they too were disappointed by the separation. The full statement from Pratt's Facebook page reads,

Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.

Faris and Prat first met on the set of the movie Take Me Home Tonight back in 2007. Faris was married to Ben Indra at the time, and she didn’t start dating Pratt until after filing for divorce from her first husband. In 2009 Faris and Pratt got married, and their son, Jack, was born a few years later in 2012.

Faris also shared a similar message announcing the separation with her Twitter followers:

As E! News points out, Faris' statement is almost exactly the same as Pratt's, except that her note does not include the last phrase in Pratt's message that reads, "And continue to have the deepest respect for one another." It probably doesn’t mean anything though, and seems more like it could be the result a character restriction.

Thousands of fans have taken to Twitter to express their feelings about Faris and Pratt's separation, with many feeling an emotional connection to the couple. Fortunately, in their statement Faris and Pratt explain that they still love each other. No matter what path life takes them on, it's good to see that Faris and Pratt still have a positive relationship, and that their prioritizing their son's well-being.
