According to People magazine, Scream Queens actress Billie Lourd confirmed that her mother Carrie Fisher died on Tuesday, Dec. 27. The Star Wars actress was 60 years old. Fisher’s surviving family members began sharing information about the actress’ hospitalization since she was first admitted following a heart attack on Dec. 23.
“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,” read a statement, according to People. “She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.” Fisher is survived by her daughter as well as her mother Debbie Reynolds, her brother Todd Fisher, her sister Joely Fisher, her sister Tricia Leigh Fisher, her former husband Byran Lourd and her Internet famous French bulldog, Gary.
As E! News points out, the family members have been posting about their beloved sibling, mom and friend. Joley posted a throwback photos of her sisters with the caption “Fisher girls…your love and prayers are deeply felt." Fisher's mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, also shared a message thanking fans for their prayers and messages of hope while her daughter was still in the hospital.
