Well, fellow Real Housewives Of New York viewers, we’ve really trooped it out to watch this season. Between the incessant mentions of Tom and Luann (did you know they got married? Because I’ve only heard that 450 times), Ramona’s rude behavior excused as quirkiness, and Sonja and Tinsley’s infighting, I’ve had about enough. I’m about to give up on what used to be my favorite of the Real Housewives franchise. But there is one thing that could save this whole season of Real Housewives Of New York — Bethenny’s trip to Mexico.
It’s not without drama, obviously. Ramona and Bethenny are not friends right now and Bethenny doesn’t want Ramona on the trip, but Ramona said she’s coming anyway. Sonja and Tinsley are on the outs, but we’re taking a trip, dammit! There are going to be tasting menus and distillery tours and all sorts of fun, and the preview for the episode reminds me a little bit of the Season 3 Scary Island episodes, which are, in my opinion, the best episodes of the whole franchise. But watching Luann fall on her face and Ramona staring at her comes at a price — there needs to be some screaming and yelling to balance it all out.
What I’m hoping for, though, is a good mix. I want Tinsley and Sonja to work out their differences — Sonja needs to realize that Tinsley is an adult (even though she’s shown us otherwise for the most part) and can do what she wants. Luann needs to not mention Tom for like… 72 hours? That’s all I ask for. Carole and Dorinda just need to keep being who they are, because Dorinda especially has been my favorite part of the season. Ramona and Bethenny… well, I don’t have hope for these two. Ramona doesn’t get why Bethenny is mad, and Bethenny will not be able to handle too much Ramona. But you know what? Wonderful things happen on Real Housewives trips, so things could really surprise me.
