What's Up With Selena Gomez & The Weeknd?

Alright, kids. Buckle up for some juicy celebrity couple news that is the drama-filled gift we deserve right now. TMZ published photos of two of the biggest music stars on the planet, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd, canoodling in plain view in Los Angeles, so are Gomez and The Weeknd dating?! (Bustle has reached out to reps for The Weeknd and Gomez, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.)

When I first saw the photos I denied it. That can't be Selena Gomez! But, yes, it is, and while it's too early to tell if Gomez and The Weeknd are "dating," they definitely know each other and are hanging out.

There are a lot of questions that these photos raise: What does Taylor Swift think? Does squad member Gigi Hadid know? Are they making music together? Who am I?

Anyway, TMZ reports that Gomez and The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, were spotted hanging out, and they got close while standing outside of Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica. Celebs have been spotted at Giorgio Baldi before, so did they know these pics were being taken? Possibly. But it could also be that they don't particularly care either way. Gomez has spent a lot of time away from the spotlight recently and she looks genuinely happy in the photos

As for The Weeknd, he and Bella Hadid broke up a few months ago. A quick reminder that Bella is little sister to Gigi, and part of the same Swift squad that Gomez is a big part of. So, if they really are dating, let's hope that this doesn't shake things up... too much.
