Major spoilers for The Defenders ahead! In the culmination of Marvel's four Netflix series, the organization known as the Hand needed to come to New York City in order to use Danny Rand's Iron Fist and go home. However, a twist of fate and love stops their fearless leader dead in her tracks. In Episode 6, Elektra kills Alexandra on The Defenders. Not only does she end Sigourney Weaver's character's quest for immortality, but she takes over the Hand entirely.

"My name is Elektra Natchios," the antihero says after stabbing Alexandra with her signature weapons, "and you work for me now. Any questions?" Actually, yes. There are a lot of questions. Has Elektra been working for Stick this whole time, or did she just wake up? Is she going to use the Hand to do good, or simply become their next evil leader? What does she want from the three remaining fingers of The Hand? You never really know with Elektra, even when she does have her memories intact. The endgame here is far from clear.

Even if you aren't the biggest fan of Elektra, it's awesome to see her take charge like that, especially after being ripped from her grave and made into something practically inhuman. (But not that kind of Inhuman). It's cool that The Hand has strong women in charge of it, whether by choice or by force. After being lost and controlled by outside forces, she finally took back her own power.

One couldn't ask for better or more powerful minions than Madame Gao, Bakuto, and Murakami. However, earlier in the season, Sowande warned the heroes that even if you cut off a finger, you can still use a hand. That's not quite as catchy as the Hydra motto, but it's a fair point. While Elektra's revenge is an empowering moment, her rule might not last.
