There is no hell quite as fresh as the moment you get home with your prized wine bottle on a Friday night and realize that you have made a perilous mistake: you have no corkscrew, and you are far too comfortable in your pajamas to venture out into the world and buy one. Thankfully, Bustle's first episode of Adulting 101, "How To Open A Wine Bottle Without A Corkscrew," is here to save you from a cruel wine-less fate. As it turns out, there are plenty of other ways to get that tricky cork out of a wine bottle using commonplace objects you already have at home.
With help from this video and a little bit of elbow grease, you'll be able to pop open a cork in three different ways: using a screwdriver or a drill to put in screws, and leverage them out with a hammer; pushing the cork in with a toothbrush; or using a torch to create air between the cork and the bottle. Just remember, no matter how south this mission goes, you can always filter out loose cork that has gotten into the wine by pouring it through a coffee filter. In the meantime, wine on!
