9 '90s & '00s Reboots Coming In 2018 You Won't Want To Miss

by Angelica Florio

One of the best themes in many recent movies and TV shows is how much they remind us of the past. There's no denying that nostalgia is in, and luckily there will be many '90s and '00s reboots in 2018 that everyone can look forward to now. 2017 provided a reboot of 1991's Beauty and the Beast (and in glorious live-action form with Emma Watson, no less), along with the return of '00s staples, TRL and Fear Factor. It looks like 2018 will also be filled with reprisals of TV and movies from the '90s and '00s. Get your hair crimper ready.

A few rumored reboots haven't yet been confirmed for 2018 also, so the list of 2018's entertainment might end up including even more throwbacks than what's on this list. Take the show Tremors — the 1990 movie starring Kevin Bacon is set to have a TV reboot, but its premiere date has not yet been released. Similarly, Netflix has announced its reboot of the '90s show Tales of the City, but the streaming platform hasn't announced its release date. With luck, even more '90s reboots will come out in the next year, too, because there can never be enough of them.

Of course, the upcoming live-action remakes of some of Mulan and Aladdin also likely make every '90s kid excited for the upcoming few years, but for now, the following '90s and '00s reboots should satisfy everyone's nostalgia for the entertainment from the preview few decades. Along with the honorable mention — the TV reboot of the classic 1988 film, Heathers — These upcoming reboots will likely make 2018 one of the best years ever.

1'Bug Juice'

The Disney Channel is making every '90s kid's dream come true with this one. No matter how much time passes, bug juice still doesn't come in a jar.

2'Bridezillas'

Early 2000s TV was nothing without Bridezillas. Even if it perpetuates troubling narratives about women's lives revolving around weddings, it can be incredibly entertaining.

3'The X-Files'

The beloved series is coming back for an 11th season after it was originally brought back for just 10 episodes in 2016. In 2018, it will return on Fox.

4'Lifesize'

Tyra Banks will be back as Eve in December 2018, so get ready to shine bright, shine far.

5'Tomb Raider'

Alicia Vikander stars in the reboot of Angelina Jolie's 2001 role that inspired '90s girls to wear their hair in one braid for the first five years of Y2K.

6'Roseanne'

Based on this Thanksgiving-themed promo, the reboot of Roseanne will be just as funny as the original.

7'Queer Eye For The Straight Guy'

The "Fab 5" is back... Sort of. According to Entertainment Weekly, the producers released a statement describing the show. "The Emmy Award-winning Queer Eye is back and ready to Make America Fabulous Again. With a new Fab 5 and the show’s toughest missions to date, Queer Eye moves from the Big Apple to turn the Red States pink — one makeover at a time," the statement read. Sounds like things might get political, and likely oh-so stylish, too.

8'Trading Spaces'

Hopefully the 2018 Trading Spaces reboot will not disappoint as many people as the original did. Enjoy this compilation video of people who hated their renovations.

9'The L Word'

The show revolutionized how members of the LGBTQ communicated is represented on TV, and it's most likely going to be better than ever.

For everyone who grew up during the '90s and 2000s, 2018 — well, its TV and movies — can't come fast enough.
