Cannes Film Festival is an opportunity for movie makers and rising stars to make their mark on the film industry. It's also a fabulous opportunity to sartorially shine and stand out from the talented crowd. Fashion fans may fancy embroidered peasant dresses to channel Elle Fanning and Hana Sugisaki at the Cannes Film Festival 2017, because these ladies were bringing back prairie chic like there's no tomorrow.
Spotted at the Blade Of The Immortal photocall on May 18, Hana Sugisaki looked pretty in pink in a long sleeved maxi featuring an all-over floral pattern. Seen on the same day in a similar style, Elle Fanning wore a powder blue Temperley London dress, that featured a bow at the neck and playful red lips dotted throughout. Both stars looked stunning in their respective feminine frocks.
Sugisaki's and Fanning's dresses were reminiscent of times gone by, but they boasted contemporary elements — such as cut-out details and a studded belt — that made them super current. They're a little similar to the ensembles worn by characters in Sofia Coppola's new movie The Beguiled, set to be released this summer. Although the girls in The Beguiled (including Fanning as one of the leading ladies) are seen in much plainer, long-sleeved, high-neck day dresses and skirts with button-down shirts. However, these outfits are equally as demure and girly as Sugisaki's and Fanning's frocks.
