International Women's Day is March 8 — and this year's will be a particularly important day in history, with a strike occurring to shine light on women's contributions to the workforce. But even if you're not taking to the streets, you can celebrate from your home with International Women's Day quotes to share on Facebook. Sharing something inspiring on your social media feeds can give yourself and others a boost in morale, and that's something a lot of us could use right now.

International Women's Day has been celebrated since 1911 as a day to advocate for gender equality, and it's now a holiday in dozens of countries. It originated in response to protests for better working conditions and pay, so it's fitting that this year, there will be a strike. The organizers of the Women's March are currently organizing "A Day Without A Woman." "We saw what happened when millions of us stood together in January, and now we know that our army of love greatly outnumbers the army of fear, greed, and hatred," the event's Facebook page reads.

On the heels of the Women's March and other Trump protests, this year's occasion promises to be especially spirited. Here are some quotes you can share to make it even more special.

1"A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong it is until it's in hot water."

2"Never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world."

3"A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle."

Irina Dunn (and popularized by Gloria Steinem)

4"I want to say, to the LGBTQ community, my fellow brothers and sisters. To immigrants, my fellow brothers and sisters. To women. Continue to embrace the things that make you unique, even if it makes others uncomfortable. You are enough. And whenever you feel in doubt, whenever you want to give up, you must always remember to choose freedom over fear."

5"We need to reshape our own perception of how we view ourselves. We have to step up as women and take the lead."

6"A feminist is a person who believes in the power of women just as much as they believe in the power of anyone else. It’s equality, it’s fairness, and I think it’s a great thing to be a part of."

7"All men should be feminists. If men care about women's rights, the world will be a better place. We are better off when women are empowered — it leads to a better society."

8Some people ask: 'Why the word feminist? Why not just say you are a believer in human rights, or something like that?' Because that would be ... a way of pretending that it was not women who have, for centuries, been excluded. It would be a way of denying that the problem of gender targets women."

9"I think transwomen, and transpeople in general, show everyone that you can define what it means to be a man or woman on your own terms. A lot of what feminism is about is moving outside of roles and moving outside of expectations of who and what you’re supposed to be to live a more authentic life."

10"There are two powers in the world; one is the sword and the other is the pen. There is a third power stronger than both, that of women."
