Diet is everything! While it's a blast to use girly and glam products in hopes of a gorgeous new glow, the very best secret to outer beauty is a healthy, well-balanced gut!
As an old-ish millennial with dry skin, I'm half convinced a good mask will solve all my problems. I'm a sheet mask fan who is determined to try and review as many as I can. Nothing makes me happier than to hear people say I helped them with a mask-purchasing decision!

You can be using the most expensive or best products in the world but if you're stressed, not sleeping or eating well, it can still show on your skin. At a particularly stressful point in my life, I had really reactive and acneic skin despite having a "good" skin care routine. Once I managed my stress by meditating on a regular basis, along with a good diet and exercise, my skin has never felt or looked better. Also, wash your pillowcases and makeup brushes on a regular basis!
I am a Canadian, West-Indian professional makeup artist, karaoke fanatic (#wingitandsingit), and self-proclaimed comedian. Specializing in bridal makeup, I also offer one-on-one classes for those who wish to learn, and I love making my clients feel beautiful. My primary goal on social media is to help promote a more realistic view of what constitutes “beautiful” in an industry full of false perfection.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes and get it wrong! My favorite beauty looks happened when I had an idea for what I wanted, then messed up but loved the outcome.

I incorporate my love of makeup and fashion into my social justice work by juxtaposing hyper feminine, glamorized, and provocative photos with thought-provoking, political captions to encourage discussions regarding intersectional feminism and body politics. In other words, I believe that the worlds of intellect, politics, and fashion/makeup can coexist and empower one another.

JUST TRY IT! Enjoy yourself, have fun, break the existing rules, and make rules that only you have to follow. At the end of the day, you will get better at makeup application the more you practice, and people will come to understand your personal aesthetic and appreciate your originality. But none of that will happen if you don't just give it a try. Let people sort out their own opinions and figure out how to mind their business on their own time.

I am a content-creating beauty lover who loves to geek about highlighter and eyeshadow. From an early age, I had a strong feeling I wanted to do something in media. Along the way, I found my mom’s makeup stash and well... the rest is history. Luckily, I found an outlet and community where I get to combine these hobbies and am able to do that as my personal passion project. I currently focus on YouTube and Instagram as my main platforms.

As a self-taught connoisseur, I always thought there were certain foolproof methods to get the best makeup looks. Although there certainly are hack and tricks, I think it’s so important to get to know your own face structure, tone, and skin type. Once you understand your canvas, you can create looks that really work for YOU.
I have a fascination with skin care and makeup. Sortofobsessed is where I get to casually talk and photograph the beauty products that are in my life. I share my experiences via mini reviews and quite a bit of pink visuals.

Since everyone is different, it can be hard giving personalized beauty advice without fully knowing that person. Something that may work for me, may not work for you. But, if I had to give one solid piece of advice that everyone can benefit from, it would be to invest in skin care! I get so many questions about how to make your complexion look smoother, brighter, etc. Your base needs to be hydrated and healthy before any makeup product is applied! Even if it’s just the addition of a simple cleanser and a moisturizer, I guarantee you will see a difference.
