News recently conducted an interesting study examining the divorce rate of Real Housewives marriages — and the results will make you totally re-evaluate the franchise's title.
Since the inception of Bravo's inaugural 'Wives series, Real Housewives of Orange County in 2006, fans have become engulfed by the privileged lifestyles of the housewives and their wealthy, often successful husbands. However, what was initially perceived to be a platform to showcase the lavish relationships of these couples would somehow wind up becoming the demise of many Housewives marriages — all of which played out while cameras were rolling. It was an initially shocking circumstance that RH fans would quickly recognize as a commonplace factor in the realm of reality television.
Fast-forwarding some 11 years and nine franchises into the Real Housewives saga, it seems that the snowball effect of divorce continues to amass at an enormous rate for every single thriving city of the series. According to E!'s recent calculations, which analyzed each branch of the conglomeration as well as the franchise as a whole, the overall failure rate of RH marriages currently stands at a whopping 35 percent, indicating that over a third of Real Housewives unions ends in divorce.
In terms of the breakdown for each respective show under the umbrella, the numbers are astonishing, to say the least.
Real Housewives Of Orange County
While E! noted that both of Tamra Judge's marriages were included in their tally, the overall divorce rate of RHOC currently stands at 23.5 percent.
Real Housewives Of New York
With both of Luann de Lesseps' marriages now a contributing factor, the big apple franchise bears a whopping 50 percent rate.
Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
The ladies of RHOBH register a 30.7 percent deficit in the marriage department.
Real Housewives Of Atlanta
Although E! explained that NeNe Leakes' divorce and remarriage to longtime love Gregg Leakes has been counted as two marriages, RHOA clocks in at the number one spot with a divorce rate of 60 percent.
