Demi Lovato & Jutes Are Engaged

Demi Lovato and Jordan “Jutes” Lutes are engaged, the singer’s rep confirmed to People. The surprise proposal took place in Los Angeles on Dec. 16.

Jutes collaborated with New York City-based fine jewelry boutique Material Good to create a bespoke pear-shape diamond engagement ring, per the magazine. After the “personal and intimate proposal,” the couple celebrated with their families at one of their favorite L.A. restaurants.

On the Dec. 7 episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, Lovato revealed that she met Jutes, a fellow musician, in the studio when he helped co-write her 2022 single “Holy Fvck,” along with “a few” other songs. “We worked really well together and we’re also just super in love,” Lovato gushed. “It’s amazing to find someone that you just laugh with and that you get to make music with. ... It’s just so special.”

‌Lovato and Jutes went public with their relationship when they were photographed holding hands in NYC in August 2022. Since then, they’ve documented several milestones and public displays of affection, including when Lovato recently “assisted” with her new fiancé’s latest tattoo, as she also revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

While they were on tour, Jutes decided to get the title of her song “Forever for Me,” which she wrote for him, inked on his body and asked her “to do it.” Joking that it “would have looked really bad” if she did the whole thing, the “Confident” singer added, “I did a good portion of it and it turned out OK.”

Birthday Love

Prior to that, the pair had certainly made no secret of how serious they were — especially when it came time to celebrate their respective birthdays on social media. In March, Lovato posted a tribute to her “sweet angel” on Instagram, calling him “gorgeous, funny, sexy, [and] talented.”

“I’ve waited my whole life to find you and I can’t wait to celebrate so many more birthdays together,” she wrote, in part. “You’re a literal dream come true and I’m so grateful to call you mine.”

When Lovato turned 31 in August, Jutes returned the love for his “best friend” in his own Instagram birthday post. “I didn’t know the perfect person existed until i met u. but now that i do, i’m gunna spend the rest of my life protecting u and doing whatever i can to squeeze another smile n belly laugh outta u,” he wrote. “I couldn’t be more proud to call u my baby.”

In response, Lovato commented, “You make my life infinitely better and I don’t know what I would do without you. Thank you for making this day so special, for being the best boyfriend in the universe and for making my dreams come true by falling in love with the perfect human and finding my soulmate. I am so beyond lucky to have you.”
