Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ relationship shows that the couple who trolls each other stays together, and the proof is in their ever-expanding family. After revealing that they were expecting their fourth child together in September by showing off her baby bump at Forbes’ Power of Women Summit, Lively announced on Feb. 12 that she and Reynolds have welcomed their newborn in the most subtle way to celebrate Puppy Bowl Sunday.

The couple, who are already parents to daughters 8-year-old James, 6-year-old Inez, and 3-year-old Betty, met in 2010 while filming The Green Lantern. It took them more than a year, a divorce involving Scarlett Johansson, and a casual fling with an A-list Hollywood playboy to actually start dating each other. Since tying the knot in 2012, Lively and Reynolds have welcomed three children who went on to famously inspire a Taylor Swift song. Now, another baby could mean Swift has another song about James, Inez, and Betty on the way — one of the greatest gifts from their decade-long relationship (aside from their effortless trolling of one another).

2010-2011: They Become Co-Stars

Before they became romantic partners, Lively and Reynolds were co-stars in 2011’s The Green Lantern. The pair first appeared together at ComicCon in July 2010 to give a sneak preview of the film, they continued to charm fans during press appearances throughout the next year. The movie signified the start of their romance — although not immediately.

While filming and promoting The Green Lantern, Lively was still dating her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley, and Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson. However, Reynolds filed for divorce in December 2010, and Lively split from the You star around the same time, clearing the way for their friendship to grow (but not before she dated Leonardo DiCaprio for a brief time).

Late 2011: The Co-Stars Start Dating

Dating rumors started to swirl in October 2011, when Lively was seen leaving Reynolds’ Boston apartment in the wee hours of the morning. The actor went on to reference their three children, of which James and Inez were in attendance, in praise of Reynolds’ parenting. “Now, I am his home, and our girls are his home, and just like that 19-year-old boy, he races home,” she said. “Whether it’s across the globe or a meeting across the street, he is hard-wired to get home. If he came home from set, not in his wardrobe, we would be very concerned. Soaked in mud, fake blood, real blood, prosthetic scars, superhero suits, tap shoes, or clown makeup, Daddy always comes home.” Of course, she couldn’t help but throw in a jab in typical Lively and Reynolds fashion, joking how people need to “stop giving him awards” because she’s “running out of precious space for [her] tchotchkes.”

On the red carpet at the same event, Reynolds told Entertainment Tonight how he was feeling about welcoming his fourth child. “I'm very excited,” he said. “We'd have to be. You know, you'd have to be a moron to do this four times if you didn't like it. February 2023: Blake & Ryan Announce Baby No. 4’s Arrival

On Super Bowl Sunday (or rather, Puppy Bowl Sunday), Lively announced that she and Reynolds had welcomed their fourth child by simply posting a photo of the couple with Reynolds’ mother Tammy that revealed she no longer had a baby bump. “Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023, been busy,” she captioned the post.

However, instead of sharing the first pictures of their fourth child, Lively instead shared a slideshow of photos depicting what she’s actually been busy with: cooking pizza and burgers, among other dishes. The couple had yet to reveal any details about their newborn, including a name, sex, or exact birthday.
