Earlier this month, Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans experienced some serious heartbreak. Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian broke up after nine years together, and it was a shame to see the show's most solid couple crumble. Even though they had their share of ups and downs, did anyone actually expect these two to separate? Personally, I didn't, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who was shocked. Finally breaking his silence on the sad subject, Scott Disick spoke about the split at a Las Vegas club appearance on Friday, July 24. While his comments pretty much confirm the break-up, his words were better than I expected. Disick told reporters,
[I'm] just taking it one day at a time. With everything going on right now, I need to be positive for myself.
According to Us Weekly, Disick stuck to drinking water and seemed more "disconnected" than usual, which is totally understandable. Look, I'm not applauding Scott Disick for being at a party, but I do think his actions reflect some remorse and better decision-making skills. I also think it takes guts for Disick to stay positive and take things as they come — which is really all he can do at the moment. It shows his head is in the right place, or at least on the right track.
While some people are rooting for a Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian reunion, now is not the time to even think about that. Instead, it's the perfect opportunity for Disick to focus on himself and improve his own well-being. That may sound selfish, but he can't truly be there for Kourtney and his family until he's in a better place himself.
During his Vegas trip, Disick shared a photo relaxing by a pool. It's nice to see him taking it easy and not doing anything ridiculous. Although if you scroll through the comments, people are pretty angry he's at the pool and not home with the family. But honestly, who are we to judge?
Meanwhile, the Kardashian-Disick kids seem to be in very good hands. On Friday night while Scott was hosting his event in Vegas, Kourtney was having a #perfectfridaynight. According to the her Instagram caption, she spent the evening snuggling up with Mason and watching Scooby Doo. Obviously she's got this parenting thing down.
Even though viewers see plenty of their lives on TV, that doesn't mean they're not real people with real emotions. Going through such a split in the public eye can't be easy, and here's hoping Kourtney and Scott keeping doing what's best for them — whether that means being together or staying apart.
