Ahead of its premiere, Glee has released six songs from the upcoming Christmas episode, which is set to air this Thursday. Christmas? I'm sure you're asking yourself right now as you read this, But isn't the Glee timeline currently taking place in April, or May? First of all: Wow, aren't you the little Glee encyclopedia! Second of all: Yes, that's right — the Glee timeline is currently taking place around April/May, meaning the characters are nowhere near thinking about Christmas in their current storylines.
The show, of course, found a way around that: Apparently, the episode will be introduced by Sue Sylvester in the beginning of the hour as "a Christmas special that FOX did not allow to air from last year," insinuating some crazy shit goes down in it. Or something. It's network cable, how crazy can things get?
As for the songs: They were released exclusively through Broadway World , and consist mostly of previews of the tracks. The songs are, of course, Christmas classics like "Away In a Manger," "Here Comes Santa Claus," "Love Child," "Mary's Boy Child," "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," and "The Chipmunk Song."
