When people think of SJP, they don't typically consider the former star of Sex and the City to be one for casual style. However, in an interview with The Huffington Post, Sarah Jessica Parker says she's a "jeans woman," and we love that her style is actually so down to earth. After seeing the talented actress in gowns and accessories like her now famous 2015 Met Gala look, SJP's Jordache campaign is a welcome way for us to see her more laid back side.
Anyone who follows fashion or entertainment can tell you that Sarah Jessica Parker is, without doubt, one of the most stylish actresses in the Hollywood fashion game, and we can learn a thing or ten from the icon. It's hard not to think of Parker and her days on wildly popular Sex and the City. From the signature pink crinoline skirt of the credits to her gorgeous Vivienne Westwood gown from the first film, it's clear to see that Parker doesn't shy away from bold fashion. However, that doesn't it's all she loves. In an interview with The Huffington Post, Parker details her ideal ensemble, and it's definitely not something we typically see her in on the red carpet.
"The truth is," Parker says, "I wear jeans probably more than all my other woman friends." The Jordache spokeswoman says her ideal outfit is, "jeans and a really great gray sweatshirt ... [and] a really fancy necklace and really fancy shoes." While jeans may be her forte, ones of the skinny variety aren't so much her thing. Parker says that she's never really worn skin tight denim, but she's definitely got some horror stories about other outfits. Of some of her gowns, she says, "I have stories about dresses that wouldn't unzip or I had to cut them off of me, which was horrible to do, but I was left with no choice at like 2:00 in the morning." Cutting apart some of the star's gorgeous dresses must definitely be a last resort.
Maybe it's her love of fashionable jeans that makes SJP the perfect Jordache spokeswoman, or maybe it's just her style altogether. Whatever it is, the star's love of both casual basics and red carpet glamour make her the perfect style icon.
