Best Nintendo Party Ever

by Tanya Ghahremani

Sure, it didn't have twerking strippers, Kelly Osbourne, and an appearance from a Dr. Seuss character like Miley Cyrus' 21st birthday party earlier this week, but that's OK — this seems like a pretty awesome time anyway. In honor of her 28th birthday, John Legend threw his wife Chrissy Teigen a Super Mario-themed party, complete with costumes and a pretty elaborate Mario cake. In other words, it was a '90s kid's DREAM.

According to the Daily Mail, the party happened yesterday in West Hollywood. Legend, of course, dressed as Mario for the occasion — exaggerated belly and all — and Teigen donned the pinkest dress in the history of pink dresses with a blonde wig to appear as Princess Peach. This is what true love looks like.

Other guests dressed as different Nintendo-themed characters, such as Mario's brother Luigi, and Princess Peach's attendant Toad. Who else is suddenly wondering where their Nintendo 64 console and Super Mario 64 cartridge is?

Yesterday before the party, Teigen took to Instagram to share a picture of her and Legend together in full costume, with the simple caption, "AHERE WE GO #nintendobirthday."

Legend and Teigen married just this past September in Italy, and got engaged in 2011 after four years of dating. You can check out pics of the best event you weren't invited to below.
