Step aside, boo boo kitties! The nominations for the biggest night in television are out and Taraji P. Henson was nominated for a 2015 Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series. This is so exciting! I can't even believe this is happening, the whole category is almost too perfect. The Oscar nominated actress hit mainstream fame with her role as Cookie Lyon on Empire. The Fox series may pretend to be about a father and his three sons, but the matriarch is the true breakout.
Henson has been nominated for several Screen Actors Guild Awards over the years and was nominated for an Emmy in 2011 for her starring role in the television movie Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story. This is her first chance at the Best Actress category in a television series and I can't wait to see if she takes home a trophy.
