How To Dress Like Rachel From 'Friends' So Your Summer Style Can Have Her Same Effortless Flair
Looking to inject some Friends-inspired flair into your wardrobe this summer? Well, look no further than one Rachel Karen Green. As befitting of her eventual career in the fashion industry, Rachel's personal style (all 703 outfits) was pretty darn on point (unfortunately-coiffed '80s flashbacks notwithstanding). Even better, a lot of the styles she rocked early on in the show's run have already made their way full-circle into vogue again — you can't so much as walk into an Urban Outfitters without being barraged with a whole melange of cropped sweaters. There's also the fact that a lot of her look was actually quite timeless — I mean, will we ever grow tired of bodycon LBDs and lounge-y graphic T-shirts? I really hope not.
So, with all that in mind, here's a summer-y style guide to get you started on your Rachel-inspired wardrobe... I'll just pretend all of those loose-fitting, high-waisted acid-washed jeans never happened, OK?

The Cropped Sweater/Plaid Skirt Combo
One of Rachel’s best outfits ever, IMHO — and, bonus, after a little over 20 years, it’s officially in again. All you need is a cropped sweater (preferably with a slight turtleneck) and a plaid skirt.

Stripes will also earn you some mid-90s street cred — especially crop top form.

Early Season Rachel Green would totally shop at Nasty Gal, right?

Rachel rocked a lot of plaid over the course of the 10 years Friends was on the air…

…in fact, this whole outfit looks like something she could conceivably have worn.

The T-Shirt
Rachel may have had her great job at Ralph Lauren, but she still knew how to work a casual graphic T-shirt or two.

Nothing to Wear Sweatshirt
… as is a good logo’d sweatshirt or two.

The Chambray Shirt
Season 1 Rachel was all about the chambray — she wore it so much that fans began to speculate that it might be part of the official Central Perk uniform!

Update her ultra-90s look by adopting a hi-lo hemmed number.

The Little Black Skirt
Another Rachel wardrobe staple? Black A-Line mini skirts — a not-so-brief re-watch of all 10 seasons will reveal countless iterations of the simple style. It’s a great style tip to steal — after all, they match everything, they’re flattering, and they’ve got that youthful flair.
