I really can't believe that I'm saying this right now, but Jamie Lynn Spears has come out with a music video for her new song "How Could I Want More," and it's...refreshing? To be fair — I would take any video over that ridiculous clip for will.i.am and Miley Cyrus' "Feelin' Myself" from this morning, so saying Spears' video is refreshing isn't saying a lot. But still, good job, Zoey 101. Anyway: I guess Britney Spears' little sister is finally making her big comeback to the entertainment world. If you don't recall, this comes after taking a step back in 2007 when she announced that she was pregnant at the age of 16 by her boyfriend at the time, Casey Aldridge. The Nickelodeon show she was on, Zoey 101, was promptly canceled, and Spears moved back to her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana to raise her daughter, Maddie.
Now, six years later, the newly engaged Spears is back — and she's apparently moved on to country music. I have to admit, the video and song are pretty sweet in a boring, all-American kind of way. A set of lyrics, for example: "Looking at a good man, you oughta be the right guy/that's got the kind of heart that any girl would die for/so how could I want more? How could I want more?" Her vocals are pretty strong, so this will likely do well.
