I thought briefly about making a "he put a ring on it!" joke to start this news off, but then I remembered that it's not 2009, so instead I'm going to go with a simple preface: Big news! According to Us Weekly, former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland is engaged to her manager Tim Witherspoon, sources close to the couple have reportedly confirmed. So technically, he did put a ring on it. A source told the gossip magazine:
"She has been showing [the ring] off to friends and family and is very happy."
Rumors that Rowland may be engaged to Witherspoon began circulating last week, after a video posted on Instagram showed Rowland with a diamond ring on her ring finger. Though neither party denied nor confirmed it, sources have reportedly confirmed that the news is indeed true. "...she wants to keep it between them to enjoy and celebrate for a bit longer," the source said.
This will be Rowland's first marriage, but her second engagement — she was previously engaged to former NFL star Roy Williams after a year of dating, but the two split up in 2005. Though Rowland never confirmed a romantic relationship with her manager, Witherspoon, the two have been rumored to be a couple since 2011.
Both Rowland and Witherspoon have yet to comment on the news.
