Sweet, sweet Jared has been released from his role on The Bachelorette. Kaitlyn Bristowe cut him loose one day before the Fantasy Suite dates, and Jared kept his gentlemanly composure well until the end: He even offered Kaitlyn his jacket after she broke up with him. I mean, come on! What’s more interesting, though, is not what Jared’s departure means for Jared — he is going home to meet a nice girl — but does this now mean Ben H. will be the next Bachelor? [UPDATE: According to E! Online, Ben H. has been selected as the 2016 Bachelor.]
Of course, we don’t know that Ben H. is coming in third place, but the editing of the show makes it seem like Nick and Shawn are the final two. But, if that ends up being Ben’s fate, it’s certainly not a bad place to be — it’s the Chris Soules spot! As you may remember, Iowan farmer Chris came in third on Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette behind Nick Viall (history repeats itself, huh?) and Josh Murray, the eventual winner. He then went on to have his own fairly successful (I say fairly because he and his betrothed, Whitney, are no longer engaged) season of The Bachelor and a stint on Dancing with the Stars. What’s next? The sky seems to be the limit.
Ben H. is handsome, kind, and totally lovable (and not a virgin, as we’ve most recently found out), so I don’t think it’s a stretch that he could be pegged as the next Bachelor. He’s certainly not going to be on Bachelor in Paradise — he’s far too wholesome for that. America would absolutely love to have Ben H. on their televisions, and, if he gets knocked off in the next week or so, there will be plenty of time to film him in exotic locales with lovely ladies.
If Ben H. doesn’t capture Kaitlyn’s heart, Bachelor producers would do well to scoop him up and present him to 25 women looking to find love (all for the right reasons, of course). Let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait for the “Men Tell All,” shall we?
