Will Scott Still Be On ‘KUWTK'?

Nothing has been confirmed by the Kardashians as of yet, but the rumor mills are in overdrive about the report that Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have broken up, allegedly and for good. When I heard the news, I immediately started asking questions. Like how did this happen, and is it for real, and is it actually going to stick this time? Because Kardashian and Disick have a long and complicated relationship with each other and with calling it quits. They’ve broken about ten gagillion times on national television alone, and I don’t even want to think about how many times they have probably broken up and gotten back together when the cameras aren’t rolling. I’m going to leave it up to time to tell whether or not this report is true, and whether or not the two reality television stars are actually going to stay broken up, but, in the meantime, there is one question that I just can’t shake: If their break up is legit, will Scott Disick still be on Keeping Up with the Kardashians ?

The reality star has been apart of the on-air Kardashian clan since the beginning of the road, starting out in Season 1 as Kourtney’s new beau whom momager Kris was super skeptical of. Since then, the show has documented Scott and Kourtney’s rocky relationship through the birth of their three children, and the ever-present problem of Scott’s drinking. In March of 2015, Scott reportedly checked himself into rehab, but the stay was short-lived. The star’s heavy drinking habits have returned in recent episodes of the show.

So, will Scott still be on the show even if he and Kourtney are done-zo? Chances are likely that he will have to be, to some extent. My money is on the fact that this “break up”—whether it warrants air quotes or not — is going play out on national television in the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, so we can all count on seeing him then. In addition to recent episodes that are probably already filmed, those Kardashians are known for keeping their exes pretty close — think Khloe and Lamar, Rob and Adrienne — so I could totally see Kourtney still being in touch with Scott after their breakup.

Not to mention their three children together. I would hope for their sake that Scott remains a significant part of their lives, both on and off camera. Because, after nine years together, Scott is part of the Kardashian clan. I can’t see him being cut from the show entirely. But maybe that’s just wishful thinking. Who else is going to ruffle all of those Kardashian feathers if Scott isn’t around?
