It's time we all add Caitlyn Jenner to our list of inspirational people, because, once again, she is proving just how influential she is in this world. On Monday, Caitlyn Jenner wrote a blog post titled "The Journey Begins," where she revealed from this moment forward she will be writing about her transgender journey, along with sharing the stories of other empowering trans individuals as a partnership with WhoSay. According to People, the blog posts are part of a weekly series of editorials called "The Real Me," which will focus on the LGBT community.
"The Journey Begins" is the very first post of the I Am Cait star's newest editorial series, and she's already blowing it out of the water, especially by admitting how she is still learning how to live her life as a transgender woman. Basically, Jenner wants to ensure she is "doing it right," all while respecting other members of the trans community. As she writes on her blog,
I have totally isolated myself from the transgender community so I have a lot of catching up to do. I feel such a responsibility to this courageous group to try to get it right and tell all sides of the story. To me, that’s always the biggest question: am I doing it right?
Luckily, Jenner has trans friends who are helping her along the way. For example, she recently dined with a group of six trans women, where they chatted about their lives and how long they've been living as transgender. After this one dinner, Jenner says she's "already learned so much about this community, the issues, and the people involved." She adds, "It’s been an eye-opening experience for me — mainly realizing how fortunate I am."
This blog series is a way, not only for Jenner to share her story, but also for the world to become acquainted with other trans individuals, who Jenner smartly says "are just like you and me."
Ever since Jenner came out as a transgender woman, she has been living quite the adventure and wants everyone to join her in one of the most exiting and educational times of her life. As she beautifully writes, "Let’s live our true selves and make a positive difference while doing it."
