Prince George Is Matchy-Matchy With 1984 William
Here in the U.K., it's a beautiful day for a royal christening — and an even better day for cooing over the outrageously cute christening ensembles worn by the royal babies, especially Prince George's outfit at Charlotte's christening (sorry, Princess Charlotte). 4:30 p.m. (BST) marked a monumental moment in Windsor history, as the nine-week-old Princess Charlotte was baptized at St. Mary Magdalene Church in the grounds of Her Majesty The Queen's Sandringham estate. In the ornate christening gown worn by Prince George before her (a replica of the 160-year-old royal christening gown now too fragile to continue using), the princess looked the dictionary definition of adorable. But what about the little prince himself?
Today, the third in line to the throne delighted crowds of well-wishers in a charming red shorts and delicately embroidered white shirt ensemble by luxury children's fashion designer Rachel Riley. Seen strolling through Sandringham next to an Alexander McQueen-clad Duchess of Cambridge (who proves the coat dress never goes out of style), the picturesque prince looks the double of his father Prince William 30 years ago on his journey to meet a newborn Prince Harry for the very first time, looking eye-wateringly cute in an almost identical red and white outfit.
And this certainly isn't the first time that father and son have donned similar outfits; in the first official portraits of Princess Charlotte last month, the handsome toddler cuddled up to his two week-old sister wearing a blue-piped white shirt and blue shorts set, which looked strikingly similar to the outfit Prince William wore for brother Harry's christening.
Many have also remarked on how adorable Prince George looked in Prince William's arms sporting the sweetest miniature of his father's own white shirt and blue sweater ensemble on his visit to St. Mary's Hospital for his first introduction to the newborn baby Charlotte. Every young royal needs a style icon fit for a king — so what better style icon for young Prince George than the second in line to the throne himself?
With his slickly side-parted blonde hairstyle and sweet yet solemn gaze, it seems dapper Prince George is already transforming into the model miniature gentleman — although the cheeky charmer was also seen initially refusing to enter the church, so perhaps he isn't "all grown up" just yet!
